A 9-year-old boy was transported by the 118 health workers in a coma to the Di Cristina pediatric hospital in Palermo after ingesting methadone.
The little boy was hospitalized in the intensive care unit, where his parents, originally from Pioppo, a fraction of Monreale, are also there.
The prosecutor has opened a file, currently against unknown persons, to clarify where the child found the methadone and how he took it.
They investigate the carabinieri of the Monreale group, contacted by the doctors of the Children's Hospital after the first checks and blood tests that revealed the presence of traces of methadone.
According to an initial reconstruction, the child
drank from a bottle, which was offered to him as fresh tea by some children
.
The little one, upon returning home, would have felt ill and would have had convulsions.
Perhaps it was precisely in those agitated situations that he would have told his parents what happened.
The child's conditions, initially serious, would gradually improve but the prognosis is still reserved.
