The Revolutionary Guards, the ideological army of the Islamic Republic, announced on Thursday June 23 that they had replaced their intelligence chief Hossein Taeb, in office for 12 years.

"Guardian chief General Hossein Salami has appointed General Mohammad Kazemi to head the intelligence services," their spokesman Ramezan Sharif said in a statement.
