Louis Vuitton past, present, future

2022-06-23T17:30:20.217Z

INTERVIEW – Yesterday, the trunk maker presented its summer 2023 fashion show in the Cour Carrée du Louvre, designed by the internal studio and nourished by Abloh's heritage. A transition full of surprises that CEO Michael Burke tells us about.

A fashion show without an artistic director is unusual… especially for a house like Louis Vuitton.

Since the tragic death of Virgil Abloh in November 2021, the trunk maker and its president, Michael Burke, have chosen to take the time to find his successor.

Thus, yesterday, the Cour Carrée du Louvre hosted the summer 2023 fashion show, produced by the in-house design studio… Which was nothing like a discount collection!

It was rather the expression of a creative vision nourished by the passage of the American, but which also knew how to detach itself from it, in order to create its own language.

For the occasion, everyone is there: the entire Arnault family, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, singer Justin Timberlake, rapper Kendrick Lamar (who sang four songs from his seat during the parade) … And savor the spectacle, seated around the podium in the shape of a circuit of small cars, applauding the marching band of the American A&M University (Florida).
