During the Pentecost holidays, an unknown person broke into the office of the headmaster of the Holzkirchen middle school.
Tests were not stolen - but 550 euros.
Holzkirchen –
It is still unclear whether it was a student who broke into the office of the headmaster of the Holzkirchen middle school during the Whitsun holidays.
When asked, the police said there was no new information about the perpetrator.
But one thing is clear: "The exam documents were all still there."
Cash box stolen: 550 euros are missing
As reported, the Holzkirchner police initially suspected the documents of the secondary school leaving examination that started on Tuesday as the target of the burglar.
The stranger had gained access to the school building through an unlocked door between Wednesday 1 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. last week.
He then levered open the headmaster's office door with brute force, causing property damage of around 500 euros.
Jürgen Heiss, director of the school board in the district, confirms that the seals on the envelopes with the examination documents were "untouched".
"I phoned the headmaster in Holzkirchner at the weekend," says Heiss.
Both were happy "that nothing happened".
Contrary to what the police initially suspected, the intruder did not leave without a loot.
According to the police officers, a red cash box with around 550 euros was stolen.
The register belongs to youth social work, which deposited the amount at the middle school, reports Heiss.
Exams untouched - theft would not have been worthwhile for students anyway
It is possible, the police continue to describe, that the perpetrator was not actually aiming for the test documents.
"Or the documents were not found."
Heiss explains: "The exams are kept in a safe place." This could be a safe, for example - or a well-lockable cupboard.
In any case, the seal rules out unnoticed theft.
The seal is only broken by teachers on the day of the exam itself in the presence of several colleagues.
In the event of theft, the replacement tests prepared by the Ministry of Education would be used throughout Bavaria, says Heiss.
Fortunately, no test documents have ever been stolen in his area of responsibility.
