Three days of partying is the order of the day at the Penzberg town festival, which starts tomorrow and lasts until Sunday evening.

Many well-known people from Penzberg want to be there and reveal what they are particularly looking forward to on the three days of the festival.

Penzberg - A long night of shopping, street musicians, workshop, matinee, retro festival, lots of live music and much more: There should be something for everyone in the varied program of the city festival, which the city and the Roche company organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the group Align the Penzberg location together.

Joy about the good coexistence of religions

If you ask around at the Penzbergers, there doesn't seem to be anyone who doesn't want to stop by at least once in a while for one or the other item on the programme.

So does the CSU city councilor Ludwig Schmuck.

The Penzberg political veteran says that he is currently in poor health and has to avoid noise.

That's why he can unfortunately neither go to the Roche Rocknacht nor to the city bet on Saturday evening.

"But I go to the interdenominational prayer service on Sunday," reveals Schmuck.

"I'm looking forward to it." Because the fact that the different religions live together and the intercultural dialogue works so well in Penzberg makes him very proud as a Penzberger.

Meet friends and enjoy the atmosphere

The new commander of the Penzberg fire brigade, Simone Abt, also wants to be part of the city festival.

The 40-year-old is particularly taken with the many different live bands that are supposed to play on Friday and Saturday evenings.

She doesn't know yet whether she will dance to the music.

In any case, after the long period of the pandemic with its many restrictions, she is looking forward to simply enjoying the party atmosphere on the town square and meeting friends and acquaintances.

It's just nice that after the long months of the pandemic, there's finally something to do in Penzberg again.

"I would wish that many Penzbergers would come to the festival and accept the offer," says Abt.

Diverse range of music

It is also the diverse range of music that attracts Johannes Meyer, the head of the city's music school - but not only.

In particular, he wants to listen to the two bands on Friday evenings in the town square – “The Foundation” and the group “Night Fever”.

The latter because "I'm an old "Bee Gees" fan," reveals Meyer.

But he also wants to “definitely” go to the town twinning matinee on Saturday.

Here he could meet acquaintances from the twin towns.

"I'm looking forward to it." And he also wants to stop by for the inauguration of the new public railway station, because: "I'm interested in what will become of the station."

Ilka Heissig from the city library has already reserved the weekend for the festival.

She is also looking forward to the many live bands – and to the city bet.

Because at the last bet on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Penzberg in 2019, there was such a great atmosphere on the town square.

When the many different people sang the Steiger song together: "That was totally touching."

A visit to the town festival is almost a must for Hans Mummert.

The former mayor has reserved the Saturday in particular for this.

"What I look forward to the most is meeting people," he says.

Because meeting and celebrating together after such a long time is the real purpose of the festival.

"It would be bad not to go," he urges the people of Penzberg to join in the celebrations.
