Weather in Bavaria: High temperature differences favor storms

The big shower follows the great heat.

Bayern faces a wet and turbulent week.

Already in the morning individual thunderstorms passed over the Free State.

Especially in the middle and in the south-east of Bavaria it crashed harder.

The reason was the subtropical air, which is now being gradually expelled from the north by the colder sea air, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

These extreme air mass limits, in the north only 15 degrees were partially reached, are a breeding ground for thunderstorms and storms.

The graduate meteorologist Dominik Jung says that the weather conditions will be "dangerous" this week.

It also says in his forecast that there can always be thunderstorms in Bavaria.

“In addition to downpours, the conditions for the formation of tornadoes are given.

There's a lot of energy in the atmosphere.” He expects an exciting but also dangerous weather week.

Weather in Bavaria: change between sun and thunderstorms announced

Today it's still warm in Bavaria with values around 29 degrees in Munich and even 31 degrees in Landshut.

In the north of the Free State, the temperatures continue to drop due to the approaching thunderstorms and the sea air.

Schweinfurt and Hof cool down to 23 degrees.

In Würzburg it will only be 24 degrees (all values from

wetteronline.de

).

From Tuesday, Hoch Frido will be spreading in Germany.

With it, it remains sunny and warm in many places during the day - but top values only reach 28 degrees - but summer thunderstorms can always occur.

Up to the weekend it crashes regularly.

From then on, the great heat wave will be over for the time being.
