Turkish media reported today (Thursday) that five Iranians have been arrested on suspicion of plotting to kidnap a former Israeli ambassador and his wife and murder them.
The five were arrested at a hotel and in hiding apartments by the Turkish intelligence organization on suspicion that they planned to fire at the Israeli and his wife who were staying at the hotel in Istanbul.
why is it important
This is the first time that the Turkish press has published details about the Iranian terrorist attacks against Israelis in Turkey since the publication of the travel warning from Israel a few weeks ago.
To this day, there has been complete silence in the Turkish media on this issue and the publication appears a short time before Foreign Minister Lapid arrives to visit Turkey.
