Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Republic of Crimea Georgy Muradov announced that the peninsula is interested in restoring sea communications with the ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol.
"The restoration of sea routes is part of economic integration ... the sea routes between Berdyansk, Kerch, Mariupol and Kerch existed historically," RIA Novosti news agency quoted Muradov as saying.
He added: "Marine communications will be restored as soon as the influx of necessary goods and passengers appears, as well as interested ship owners, indicating that marine communications will certainly succeed because the need to transport goods and people will increase."
