Due to the gas crisis in Germany, the Südwest-Wirtschaft warns of possible production losses and company bankruptcies.
Cost burdens must be fairly balanced between gas suppliers and gas customers, demanded the President of the umbrella organization BWIHK, Wolfgang Grenke, on Thursday in Stuttgart.
"Otherwise we run the risk that companies in the energy-intensive industry in particular will have to stop production and as a result face insolvency," explained Grenke.
Stuttgart - "Depending on the development, government aid packages are necessary - be they of a tax nature or targeted support programs," Grenke continued.
Companies take the topic of energy saving very seriously.
"But in industry in particular, gas is part of the production process and cannot simply be saved," said the head of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BWIHK).
Due to significantly reduced gas supplies from Russia, the federal government has declared the alarm level in the gas emergency plan.
There is currently security of supply, but the situation is tense, the Federal Ministry of Economics had announced.
The emergency plan has three levels: The alarm level now declared is the second.
The third would be the emergency level.
