Wanted by Interpol: An Israeli citizen arrested during a vacation in Greece on suspicion of drug offenses
A 52-year-old Emek Hefer resident arrived with his wife on vacation on the island of Kos when he was arrested following an international arrest warrant issued against him by Interpol.
According to the order, the citizen is suspected of having committed drug offenses in Peru in 2012, but he claims he was not there at all during the period in question.

An Israeli citizen was arrested in Greece yesterday (Wednesday) when he arrived with his wife on vacation on the Greek island of Kos.
The citizen, a 52-year-old Emek Hefer resident, is wanted under an international arrest warrant issued against him by Interpol for drug offenses.
According to the arrest warrant, the man is wanted following drug offenses he allegedly committed in Peru in 2012. According to the citizen, he was not in Peru at all during the period in question.
The wanted person was a member of the "Dan" cooperative for 30 years, and currently works as a car appraiser.
A hearing on the citizen's case was supposed to take place today on the island of Rhodes, where the wanted person will be transferred by the Greek police, but was postponed and is expected to take place tomorrow.

Lawyers said the citizen came to the island with his wife, whom he surprised after not going on vacation together for a long time.
They added that "the man has gone abroad countless times in recent years and has never had a problem crossing this or that border.
" He went on vacation with his wife, was arrested and held by the Greek authorities for no wrong in his palm.
Undoubtedly this is a terrible mistake and may even be identity theft by another.
My client and his family are shocked and in pain and are seeking the intervention of the elements in Israel soon.
The time factor is critical and should be acted upon immediately. "
