Wolfratshausen – In order to increase traffic safety, the expansion of cycle expressways and other bicycle-friendly measures should be accelerated.

At the annual general meeting of the ADFC district association in the Athos restaurant on Untermarkt, it became clear that there was also a need for action in the district.

"It is necessary that car traffic is reduced and more is done for pedestrians and cyclists," explained Birgit Sachers.

In her statement of accounts, the board spokeswoman pointed out that discussions with city councillors, mobility officers and the head of the building department, Rainer Goldstein, took place in Geretsried in particular.

After all, the largest city in the district is still striving to join the Association of Cycle-Friendly Municipalities (AGFK).

According to ADFC district board member Josefine Hopfes, the results of these efforts are still “manageable”.

In contrast, there were successes in Wolfratshausen.

There, the former head of the building authority and bicycle officer Susanne Leonhard was able to push through the construction of a modern parking facility at the S-Bahn station before she retired, which should be completed soon.

ADFC member Werner Grimmeiß regrets all the more that there is currently no mobility officer in Loisachstadt.

Mechthild Felsch reported on "tough negotiations" in Münsing.

Actions all about bikes: city bike rides, tours, technology days

Covered bike racks in the village center could not be enforced there for cost reasons.

According to Gerhard Krapp, there is still a lot to do in Tölz.

Since Mayor Ingo Mehner himself travels a lot by bike, a lot can still be expected.

In the coming months, the ADFC district association not only wants to promote the entry in the signature lists of the cycling referendum, which have been available since June 16th.

A strong participation in city cycling in the respective communities is also planned, as well as support for the “Kidical Mass” bicycle demo in Wolfratshausen in September.

Brigit Sachers and Claudia Redeker are also continuing the driver safety training sessions in Geretsried, Tölz, Wolfratshausen and Münsing.

Bike tours, GPS courses, technology days and campaigns in the Geretsried hands-on workshop "Nail and Thread" complete the commitment.

In the final elections, Birgit Sachers, Josefine Hopfes, Claudia Redeker, Werner Grimmeiß, Gerhard Krapp and Bernd Sachers were reappointed to the board of directors.
