The festival week in Maisach can take place.

In René Kaiser, the community has found an innkeeper who will take care of the catering on the fairground.

Maisach – The main and finance committee of the municipal council still had to give its okay on Thursday evening.

The decision was made after the editorial deadline, but is considered a formality, because Mayor Hans Seidl (CSU), Volksfest consultant Tobias Ottilinger (CSU) and the top management in the town hall had been working for weeks to organize the 2022 festival week (from August 26 to September 4) after the To make the exit of the previous host Jochen Mörz a reality.

The new landlord Kaiser was offered the same conditions as Mörz – and there had recently been no criticism of the financial framework in the municipal council.

The consent is therefore considered safe.

Seidl says it was "a matter of honor" for everyone to find a festival host.

The aim is to offer citizens joy and distraction after the pandemic.

And he had been asked about the folk festival by almost everyone he had met in the past few weeks: “The population longs for the festival week.

That's why we didn't let up."

So you have landlords and organizers "up and down the phone", many conversations have been held.

Then you even had an innkeeper, but he had to cancel again after consulting his team: Large parts of his team had booked vacation for the end of August - he would not have had enough staff for the festival week.

That was a setback, says Seidl.

But then René Kaiser reported to the town hall - he too had heard of the plight of the Maisach community.

According to Seidl, Kaiser has around 20 years of experience in the industry.

He organizes district festivals in Munich and has also operated beer tents.

The Mass beer costs 9.30 euros

Kaiser's concept was convincing in Maisach.

There are also new impulses, according to Seidl.

For example, in addition to a beer tent, a wine tent is being considered.

The town hall leadership is now working with Kaiser to bring showmen to Maisach.

The price for a mass of beer was agreed at 9.30 euros.

Landlord and brewery boss Michael Schweinberger agreed, because in return the community waived their usual 300 postage stamps.

Seidl explains that it was important to those responsible in the municipality to be able to offer the citizens the lowest possible beer price.

The program is in large parts.

A beer tasting is planned for the first evening (Friday, August 26) and the entry into the marquee will take place on Saturday.

Children's afternoon is on Sunday - and no longer on Wednesday, because the families simply have better time on the weekend, says Seidl.

Monday is Seniors' Day, the municipality continues to invite older people.

The program is set: cabaret star at home

For Tuesday evening, festival speaker Tobias Ottilinger lured the cabaret artist Martina Schwarzmann, who comes from Überacker, to Maisach.

A second cabaret evening is planned for Thursday (with the trio Schleudergang from Brettl-Spitzen).

On Wednesday evenings there are beer games at the brewery, and on Sunday the end is the traditional sheep's day.

Music is offered every day, sometimes traditional from brass bands, sometimes groovy from an Oktoberfest band.

The fireworks on the last day have been cancelled.

It has long been clear that, out of consideration for the refugees from Ukraine, they want to do without it.
