Four people were killed in the crash of an Il-76 military transport plane while it was carrying out a training flight in the city of Ryazan, central Russia.
"During the training flight, the crew decided to land in fields beside the plains of the Pletionka River, after detecting an engine failure, but the plane partially crashed when landing and the injured crew members were taken to hospital," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying in a statement.
A source in the city's emergency agency later said that four crew members were killed in the accident. Firefighters are working at the scene to put out the fire that broke out after the plane crash.
