A 58-year-old Dutch woman apparently confused police officers with vampires.
The thief attacked the officials at Munich Airport with garlic.
Airport – As Michael Pemler from the Airport Police Inspectorate reports, the woman who was carrying a prayer rug on her shoulders was checked in the central area around 9:10 a.m. on Thursday.
The aggressive lady acknowledged this with loud screams and began throwing garlic cloves at the officers.
"Since they were police officers and not vampires, they were not overly impressed or chased away by the tubers," says Pemler with a wink.
As it turned out, the lady had stolen the prayer rug from St. Christopher's Chapel.
During the subsequent search, three more came to light that had also been stolen from the chapel and were returned after they had been secured.
"The Dutch woman, who is now free again, not only has proof that garlic doesn't always help, but she will also have to answer for theft, among other things," announced Pemler.
