Arrived with five bodyguards: Liberal Muslim Seyran Ates in Grünwald

In her lecture in the Thomaskirche in Grünwald, lawyer Imamin and women's rights activist Seyran Ates called for more willingness to integrate on the part of migrants from societies that maintain a backward worldview.

– Look at the lives of others.
This is essentially what is meant by mindfulness, as the Protestant pastor Christian Stalter put it in a nutshell in the Grünwalder Thomaskirche using the example of Lazarus.
The Friends of the Tutzing Academy dedicated a series of lectures with well-known speakers to this virtue, beginning with Imam Seyran Ates, women's rights activist and founder of a liberal mosque community in Berlin.
She is well networked in Northern Germany and now she would like to take her impulses, including the culture of debate, further south.
The imam arrived with five bodyguards, and she keeps receiving death threats from radical circles.
Around 50 guests and other visitors to the live streaming on YouTube listened to her until he collapsed after around 40 minutes due to too many uploads.

Islam tolerant to the point of exhaustion preached
"Love is halal and deserves respect." With this slogan, the Berliner with Turkish and Kurdish roots promotes a tolerant Islam and never tires of repeating it.

She has lived in Germany for many decades and stands up for people who do not belong to mainstream society and becomes an advocate for those who cannot protect themselves on their own.
However, the reality of life for many children and women, many Muslim families and the LGBT community does not have much in common with their wish, which they put above everything else and also distribute as stickers.
She is often depressed when hundreds of thousands of people flee to Germany and that terrible fates take place.
The Basic Law must not be exploited
Just a few weeks ago, she advised a woman who has taken on the guardianship of a 13-year-old girl from Syria.
The child was married to an adult man over the phone.
After two years of suffering, she found a way to break out and find help.
Because the family does not recognize her freedom and continues to declare her married, she is now trying to get a divorce according to Islamic law.
A civil marriage did not take place.
Seyran Ates asks how a free society can allow the Basic Law to be exploited by a radical minority that pushes backward ideas and fights against women's freedom.
The lawyer deals with such individual cases on a daily basis, and she also has to take good care of her own safety.
It is equipped with twelve bodyguards for major events, five of which accompanied them to the Grünwald lecture.

Lively conversation at the fountain in front of the church
Integration versus identity, the women's rights activist moves in this field of tension and advocates making integration a condition.
The values are specified in the Basic Law and they must also be observed.
After the lecture, Pastor Christian Stalter stood with Seyran Ates at the fountain in front of the church and had a lively conversation.
The Berliner must be back in her mosque Ibn Rushd Goethe, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary, by this Friday.
Then she goes on the Way of St. James.
The Thomas community is happy that they made it to the Isar Valley community shortly before.
