A fire broke out at the Ping Zhongdian Cable Bridge in Long Ping, Yuen Long on Tuesday night (21st), causing major power outages in Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun.
After emergency deployment of power by CLP, power supply was restored in the morning of Wednesday (22nd).
CLP said this afternoon (24th) that the engineering staff had completed the laying of the first group of 132,000 volt UHV cables, and the power was officially turned on at 3 a.m. this morning.
After the power is turned on, the power supply capacity of the power grid in the area can be strengthened and the stability of the power supply can be improved.
As for the other two sets of high-voltage cables, CLP aims to complete the laying and energization on or before next Tuesday (28th).
CLP once again apologises to the affected customers and thanks them for their understanding.
CLP said it will continue to closely monitor the electricity consumption in the area and make deployments when necessary.
