The BRK clothing store on Münchner Strasse is to become more customer-friendly.

Renovation work has recently started.

Holzkirchen – More attractive opening hours, clear sales areas, more customer-friendly parking options: the clothing store of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) in Holzkirchen is currently undergoing a makeover.

"We are making the store brighter, friendlier and more open," says BRK district manager Robert Kießling about the renovation work that has been going on since Monday.

"Currently he is insanely stuffed with goods, which makes a somewhat junk impression."

The aim is to relocate the winter goods, which are also stored in the approximately 80 square meter shop in summer, to one of the BRK basement warehouses in Miesbach or Hausham and to use the freed-up space as sales space.

"So that the customer has more space and the summer goods can be presented in a more appealing way," explains Kießling.

He also wants to lend a hand to the shop window design.

"We want to use different lighting and give customers the opportunity to look into the store from the shop window." That's not possible at the moment.

However, customers also wanted to be able to see the range that is not presented in the window display.

In addition, the parking spaces in front of the shop at Münchner Straße 31 are to be made available.

A cordon is currently preventing access.

Green plants should beautify the outdoor area.

The new concept includes opening hours that ideally correspond to the regular shop opening times.

So far, the BRK store is only open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Fridays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This is due to the lack of volunteers to keep the business running.

There are a total of eight volunteers who advise customers, sell and present goods.

One of them is Monika Floßmann.

What she appreciates most about her job is the sociable cooperation in the clothing store and would be happy to have more colleagues - also to relieve her burden.

"Anyone who wants to take a look is very welcome," says Floßmann.

"Every volunteer decides for himself whether and when, how long and in what form he wants to help." The BRK hopes to find numerous new helpers,

The realignment of the shop, which has existed for 15 years, is due to the recent significant increase in the number of customers.

"These include not only people who come for financial reasons," says Kießling, "but also affluent customers looking for a nice piece." Because word has long got around that the second-hand range in the BRK shops also includes chic branded goods, some of which have never been worn.

For example, bad purchases that could no longer be exchanged or clothes that no longer fit.
