The Government announced today (August 24) the appointment of Legislative Councillor Chan Cho-hang to replace Lam Hsuan-wu as chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, with effect from August 6 this year.
And Zha Yichao was re-elected as chairman of the board of directors of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, effective from July 1 this year.
Both serve two-year terms.
The Government commends Chan Cho-hang as a senior industrialist with extensive experience in public and community service. He believes that he can lead the HKPC to promote "re-industrialization", use innovative technology to enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong's manufacturing industry, and help enterprises shift to high value-added production.
And Zha Yichao has led the Science and Technology Park Company for four years. Through the implementation of a number of I&T infrastructure and measures, it has created a more dynamic I&T ecosystem for Hong Kong.
The government also appointed Chen Zhichong, Tan Waihao and Xie Xiaoling, three new members to join the board of directors of the Science and Technology Park.
Current members Chen Shuang, Che Pinjue, Cai Hongxing, He Chaoping, Ma Guiyi, Huang Yongguang and Legislative Councillor Wu Yongjia were reappointed.
The full term of office is two years, effective from July 1 this year.
The two current members of the board of directors of the Science and Technology Park Corporation, Ni Yili and Pan Jiaming, will resign after their terms expire on June 30 this year.
