After years of attracting fire from the left, Ben Gvir will find himself in the upcoming elections at the center of a political struggle of the ultra-Orthodox parties, who fear leakage of votes in his direction from young, modern and right-wing ultra-Orthodox, who are looking for a new address. At the very least, the parties will be able to take comfort in the fact that any strengthening of their bloc is welcome

Itamar Ben Gvir has become one of the most "popular" names in the mouths of coalition party leaders in recent months.

Whenever they wanted to convey a message against the attempts to overthrow the government they would pull out the name of those who called them "fascist", "racist" and warned against the government of "Bibi and Ben Gvir".

For someone who has only served as a Knesset member for a year, it could sometimes be thought that he has two decades of experience and if Google is a measure - Israelis roll out his name more than Bezalel Smutrich, Aryeh Deri or Nitzan Horowitz, with significant gaps.

For years, Ben Gvir has been attracting fire from the left side of the political map, but in the upcoming elections, he is expected to be a central focus in the political struggle with the ultra-Orthodox parties, Shas and Torah Judaism, which are afraid of leaks in his direction. Mir in Jerusalem or a campaign aimed at ultra-Orthodox young people, but even before the official campaign opened, in the ultra-Orthodox parties, they began a battle of containment.

Ben Gvir has the ability to sweep away half a seat for up to two young, modern and more right-wing ultra-Orthodox who are not secretive despite the great rabbis or disappointed Shas and Torah Judaism looking for another address. Ben Gvir did not collect them on social media or WhatsApp groups.

In the decision between him and the older generation of Gafni, Deri or Porush - the decision is clear.

In the merriment in Meron, he was waiting for them in the parking lots when the police decided to close the mountain.

Nor does his resolute support for Torah scholars go unnoticed.

For them, he is an energetic, sweeping, younger figure, and in the decision between the older generation of Gafni, Deri or Porush - the decision is clear.

Shas and Torah Judaism recognize the concern, and apart from the public statements as if nothing will happen - choose a line of defense, one that is unlikely to be useful. On several occasions, Ben Gvir published editorials and articles against him on the front page of the newspaper, and on one occasion wrote about his ascent to the Temple Mount during a tense security period because it belonged to a "nationalist who could set fire to the entire Middle East in revenge." Gavir "Ahbel" and called to stay away from him and all his leaderships.

The line of defense common to the two attacks is similar.

Ben Gvir was not attacked because of his right-wing views but is portrayed as a provocateur who prefers his nationalist views on Torah and Halacha.

The message: Such a politician will not be able to represent the ultra-Orthodox public.

But will that be enough?

Can the attacks in the magazines or in the weekly classes of the spiritual leaders be a response to a leak that may be significant?

It is difficult to know, just as much as it will be difficult to estimate Ben Gvir's ultra-Orthodox voters on the day after the election.

But both sides can take comfort now that all their voters want a right-wing government led by Netanyahu, and any strengthening of their bloc - will be welcome.
