Munich will also feel the effects of the G7 summit at Schloss Elmau.
The most important things at a glance.
Munich - Munich, get ready for another hot weekend!
Except that this week is not about the summer temperatures.
From June 26th to 28th, the meeting of the G7 heads of state and government will take place in Schloss Elmau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen - and the state capital will also feel the effects.
On the one hand, because from Friday there will also be massive protests against the policies of the major industrial nations.
On the other hand, because Munich is the hub for the arrival and departure of the world's most important politicians and their delegations.
The citizens on the Isar must therefore be prepared for all sorts of obstacles.
"Our goal is to keep the restrictions as low as possible," emphasizes Werner Kraus from the Munich Presidium.
But one thing is also clear: the police, in cooperation with the city authorities, are doing everything they can to ensure that there are no disruptions to the summit processes.
G7 summit in Elmau: Munich police take security precautions
Keyword traffic: The politicians land at Munich Airport and ideally fly to Elmau by helicopter.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, they are driven by car over the A95.
The police do not reveal where the so-called protocol routes in Munich run.
"For safety reasons," emphasizes Kraus.
However, security is provided in advance along the routes: for example, by sealing manhole covers so that no bombs can be placed underneath.
This happens in the night from Thursday to Friday (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) on the Ring, among other places: Therefore, the Landshuter-Allee tunnel, the Luise-Kieselbach tunnel, the Trappentreu tunnel and the Petruel tunnel are closed in two.
Also from Thursday, the parking areas below the Donnersberger Bridge must be cleared so that no explosives can be placed there either.

Munich and the G7 summit in 2022: These demos are planned
When exactly the politicians could drive through Munich is a secret.
However, well-informed circles have already leaked that Chancellor Olaf Scholz, US President Joe Biden, French President Emanuel Macron and Boris Johnson from the United Kingdom will fly to Munich on Saturday evening.
A day on which there will be a lot going on in the city: because that is when the large demo will take place on and around the Theresienwiese in the run-up to the summit, which a broad action alliance has called for.
Expected number of participants: At least 20,000 people.
“We are demanding a tough working meeting from the G7,” explains Christoph Bautz from Campact.
The most important issues: the climate crisis, loss of biodiversity, social injustice!
It starts at 12 p.m., from 1 p.m. the train moves through the city center via Lindwurmstraße, Stachus and Stiglmaierplatz (www.g7-demo.de).
Already on Friday there are protests at Odeonsplatz (from 5 p.m.) and at Stachus (from 6 p.m.), on Sunday there are several actions from 11.30 a.m. at Odeonsplatz.
