The demands of farmers and livestock breeders in the Salamiyah area and the villages of Zagrine, Tel Dahab, Sheikh Ali Kasoun, Kawkab, Soran and Taiba Al-Imam in the eastern and northern Hama countryside, during their meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatna, and his tour of the wheat fields and receiving centers in the governorate, focused on the need to support the barley crop with fertilizer and allocate fuel for tractors. The farmers called for increasing the amount of agricultural diesel for wells and quantities of fertilizers, financing farmers with small loans for raising domestic livestock, securing drinking water and irrigation, since the groundwater of peaceful rural villages is sulfur unsuitable for irrigation, providing projects for rural women, increasing the amount of feed rations for livestock and rehabilitating agricultural roads.

The Minister of Agriculture explained that the aim of the tour was to reconsider the farming methods used in the second settlement area in the countryside of Hama governorate, in light of the recurring drought conditions every year, so that a better advantage would be given to the cultivation of rainfed barley in weak and light lands and to continue to grow rain-fed wheat in fertile lands. As for irrigated agriculture There is continuity in the cultivation of the wheat crop in those lands.

Qatana added that the government is striving to achieve stability for farmers on their lands and to listen to the problems they faced this season to overcome in the coming seasons, pointing out that the Agricultural Bank will finance the farmers with all production requirements as a debt in kind according to the agricultural organization and the schedule of need and priority for the wheat crop and the surplus will be distributed to the rest of the crops and fruit trees, noting That the ministry has 40,000 tons of sifted, sterilized, rounded wheat seeds ready for distribution as of the beginning of September, and all the quantities that will be secured from the fertilizer will be distributed immediately.

For his part, the Governor of Hama, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, explained that what was approved by the Agricultural Committee in Hama regarding the production components of wheat, where the plan was fully implemented, including fertilizers, seeds and fuels for plowing, irrigation, harvesting, and transportation, and was fully secured.

The Director of Agriculture in Hama, Ashraf Bakir, pointed out that the 36 net houses for potato seed production in Maar Shahour were inspected and they are in the process of harvesting, as their production is estimated at 54 tons, including 35 tons of Super Elite seed.
