The summer in Germany started with lots of sun and high temperatures.

But how long will this heat wave last?

Munich - Lots of sun, hardly any rain.

The summer of 2022 started with a real heat wave in Germany.

Especially with the high temperatures last weekend, June has been far too warm for this time of year.

Other countries such as Italy are also currently struggling with extreme drought, and even Lake Garda is to be tapped there.

But that could change soon: Experts are observing that at least the weather in Germany will probably soon take a different direction than expected.

Heat wave in Germany: What does the rest of summer look like in June and July?

The further course of the summer in Germany could provide significantly less of the previous heat in the coming months: According to

wetterprognose-wettervorhersage.de

, it is still possible in June that the 30 degree mark will be reached again.

Temperatures between 22 and 26, or locally 28 degrees, are more likely.

This means that Germany would not expect the weather to be quite as hot as last weekend.

The extremely hot summer days should then be over by July at the latest: according to forecasts from

wetter.de

, temperatures near the 30 degree mark can only rarely be expected, especially in the north, but there could be cooler days with sometimes below 20 degree coming.

It could be a bit warmer in the west, but overall also changeable and sometimes cooler than in the north.

A small ray of hope for summer lovers: In the west and in the east it should be really hot again at least between the end of June and the beginning of July, temperatures above 35 degrees are possible.

Summer weather in Germany: The greatest heat hits the south

According to the forecasts, the south should still get the most sun in comparison in July and will therefore repeatedly reach the 30 degree mark in the coming month, and even 34 at the end of July.

But more rain is to be expected in the south than in the other parts of Germany.

There should be more rainfall throughout Germany in July, but most in the south.

The heat wave is therefore likely to come to an end sooner rather than later.

According to current forecasts, July will have normal summer weather.
