Iran on thwarting abduction in Istanbul: "Ridiculous accusations aimed at clashing between us and Turkey"
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has officially responded to the arrest of the 10 Iranians arrested in Istanbul on suspicion of plotting to kidnap Israelis and murder them.
"Israel is trying to damage relations between Turkey and Iran," they said.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Lapid visited Turkey yesterday and thanked them for their efforts to thwart terrorist attacks against Israelis in the country.

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said today (Friday) that Israel's accusations against Iran regarding its intention to carry out terrorist attacks in Turkey were "ridiculous" and that Israel was trying to clash and damage relations between Turkey and Iran.
Things come less than a day after Turkey reported the thwarting of an Iranian terrorist cell that planned to assassinate Israelis in Istanbul.
According to Turkish media, ten Iranians were arrested yesterday in Istanbul on suspicion of plotting to kidnap the former Israeli ambassador to Istanbul and his wife - and to murder them.
The Iranians were arrested at a hotel and in hiding apartments by the Turkish intelligence organization on suspicion that they planned to fire at the diplomat and his wife who were staying at a hotel in the city.
It was also reported that the Mossad evacuated Israelis who were targets in a private plane back to Israel.
During a search of the hiding apartments, two silencers, two pistols, many documents and digital materials were seized.
"The accusations are ridiculous."

This is the first time that the Turkish press has published details about the Iranian terrorist attacks against Israelis in Turkey since the publication of the travel warning from Israel a few weeks ago.
To this day, there has been complete silence in the Turkish media on this issue and the publication appeared a short time before Foreign Minister Yair Lapid arrived to visit Turkey.
Lapid met yesterday with Turkish intelligence chief Hakan Fidan in Ankara and discussed with him the intelligence cooperation between Israel and Turkey and efforts to continue to thwart Iranian terrorist attacks against Israelis in Turkey.
Also, Lapid today has a joint statement with his Turkish counterpart from the Chabushulu acorn in Ankara.
Last week, Israel raised the travel warning to Istanbul to level 4, which is the highest level, and issued a severe travel warning to Israelis traveling to the country.
In the shadow of the threats, it was reported that the security forces in Turkey recently arrested agents in the service of Iran, who were planning to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli tourists in the country.
For example, about a month ago, an attack by the Revolutionary Guards against Israeli citizens was thwarted, and a senior Israeli official stated that the attack was to be carried out in the form of an abduction.
