At the party conference in Erfurt, the Left dares a fresh start after many defeats.
The most successful politician in the party, however, receives negligible speaking time.

Reasons to restart abound.
In the federal election, the GAU could only be averted by a special rule, in the first three state elections the party did not get more than three percent in any federal state, and within the party the left is more divided than ever.
On the program for the left from Friday (June 24) to Sunday (June 26) is the analysis of the many electoral defeats, debates on the reorientation of the party and the election of a new party leadership.
Politics with a view to the Ukraine conflict will also become an important topic of contention, especially how to deal with arms deliveries.
Left Party Congress in Erfurt: Wissler is running again as chairman
After the resignation of Linken co-boss Susanne Hennig-Wellsow, only Janine Wissler is currently leading the party.
The 41-year-old is applying again for the office of federal chairman.
"This party has a lot more in common than differences," Wissler told the
German Press Agency
on Thursday .
"Anyone who speaks for the party must represent the position of the party." Those who cannot do this should hold back in public or only express private opinions.
Wissler did not name anyone.
Most recently, well-known left-wing politicians had publicly argued.
The former parliamentary group leader Sahra Wagenknecht had criticized today's party leadership and called for "new faces".
Gregor Gysi then demanded an end to the denunciation.

A total of 28.5 hours are planned for debates, meetings and speeches at the Left Party Congress 2022 in Erfurt.
The currently most successful left-wing politician, Bodo Ramelow, who had heavily criticized the party for the poor result in the federal election, received just four minutes of it.

Therefore, resentment is said to have spread.
The conference executive committee can still make changes to the schedule at short notice.
