Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, affirmed that his country is ready to help Afghanistan by supplying it with grain, calling on Western countries to return funds to Afghanistan without preconditions.
And “Russia Today” website quoted Nebenzia as saying at a meeting of the UN Security Council that “it is very unfortunate that the illegal sanctions against Russia affect its cooperation with humanitarian organizations, destroying logistical and financial chains,” adding that “if necessary, we will be ready to help Afghanistan with grain supplies.” .
"We call on Western donors to stop speculating on the Afghan issue, return funds to the country and start providing comprehensive assistance to normalize the social, economic and humanitarian situation in the country without reservations and preconditions," Nebenzia added.
He pointed out that Western countries bear the main burden of responsibility for the results of their 20-year presence in Afghanistan.
