Too many staff are sick at the same time.

The Schongau swimming pool therefore has to close earlier on weekends of all days and when the weather is good for swimming.

Schongau – The decision was very difficult for the Plantsch administration “in view of the good weather conditions and the bad news everywhere – unfortunately there is no alternative”.

The Schongau swimming pool will close earlier at the weekend - i.e. on Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th.

The outdoor pool and pool world in the hall are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the sauna area from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The reason for the reduced opening hours is staff shortages.

"The current shortage of staff is not due to a lack of filling of the scheduled positions, but to many cases of illness," emphasizes Plantsch boss Andreas Kosian to the local newspaper.

A part-time employee is currently only being sought for the checkout.

In addition, a full-time position had to be replaced for supervision, which unfortunately had been permanently and unexpectedly canceled in the past week.

The problem now, however, is that in addition to a few “normal” illnesses, there are currently too many positive corona test results that have reduced the workforce.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

"Day of Clubs" in the Plantsch should take place on Saturday

It is the first time that the opening hours in the Plantsch have been reduced unexpectedly, says Kosian.

The sword of Damocles was already hovering over the Plantsch in February when isolated staff fell ill with Corona.

"We haven't had to limit the opening hours yet, even if it's almost a miracle," Kosian told the local newspaper at the time.

The remaining staff caught every gap by eagerly swapping shifts until the respective infection situation was clarified (we reported).

Also this time.

But “the staff that can still be deployed has been working well at and above the reasonable limit since the Pentecost holidays.

In addition, it is also important to comply with labor law regulations.” Even if the bathing fun ends a little earlier at the weekend: As things stand at present, the “Day of Clubs” planned for Saturday, June 25th can still take place in the Plantsch.

Various Schongau clubs will present themselves between 12 noon and 4 p.m.

The diving club, the canoe club, the departments "swimming" and "triathlon" of the TSV, the Rheumaliga and the water rescue service are also at the start.

During the week, the regular opening hours should apply again – “unless there are other positive test results in the workforce”.
