"No budget":
Suriname President ChandrikPressad (Chan) Santuhi announced today (Friday) that his country does not have the funds to build an embassy in Israel.
However, he did not rule out the establishment of future embassies in Israel, but said that the state should receive a report and see what the findings and recommendations are and take follow-up measures based on this.

Recall that last month the Foreign Minister of Suriname, the country located in South America, announced that the country will open an embassy in Jerusalem.
The approval provoked criticism from some members of parliament due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Suriname also appointed an ambassador to Israel, Stevenas Nordzi, in March.
"Nordzi will continue to serve, support, give content to the cooperative relationship," the president said.
