Starnberg - On May 14, the opening ceremony heralded the start of the temporary project "See and the City" at Bahnhofplatz.

The project, which is being supported by urban development funds, is mainly about gaining space for pedestrians on a trial basis.

In order to emphasize these new areas, they were colorfully designed, seating was created and flower pots were set up.

A change in traffic routing and the speed limit of 20 km/h is intended to encourage drivers to drive more carefully and to pay attention to pedestrians.

After the end of the project in October 2022, the areas will be dismantled again and the city will have gained new insights for the future development of the area.

"It is very important to us to talk directly to the citizens and to discuss the development potential at the station square.

The citizens are still invited to actively participate in the project and to implement their own actions on the newly acquired areas," says Deputy Mayor Angelika Kammerl.

For personal exchange, the city of Starnberg has planned three information stands on July 9th at the weekly market on Kirchplatz from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on July 23rd also at the weekly market on Kirchplatz from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The city administration is thus building on the citizens' talks that have already taken place, in which all interested Starnbergers, retailers and restaurateurs were encouraged to help shape the project.

Citizens also have until October to take part in a survey on the subject of "Traffic in the city centre".

It also asks whether there is any interest in a pedestrian zone in Starnberg.

You can access and fill out the questionnaire at http://see-and-the-city.de/.

Then simply send it by e-mail to see-and-the-city(at)starnberg.de.

The questionnaire can also be printed out and placed in the mailbox at Starnberg Town Hall.

The sheet is also available in paper form in the foyer of the town hall.

The project team is also available to citizens at any time for further suggestions and feedback via e-mail to see-and-the-city@starnberg.de.
