The people of Isen flock to the marquee: Irmgard Hibler taps into it with six hits

The big move into the Isen festival tent was a successful start to the folk festival.

– flags, costumes and brass band music: the 36th Isen folk festival opened on Wednesday with a magnificent procession.

The procession was traditionally led by the Isen brass band, followed by firecrackers and the carnival committee.

Both clubs are celebrating anniversaries this year and are taking part in the folk festival Sunday.

In addition to numerous flag delegations from the clubs, the first graders from the Isen school were there, as well as Pastor Josef Kriechbaumer and the parish council as well as the municipal councillors.

The football youth, dressed in uniform green, was unmistakable and unmistakable.

The end of the long procession was host Anton Müller, master brewer Tom Drechsel and festival speaker Hans Schrimpf as well as the festival carriage with the mayors.

And those who didn't march along stood at the side of the road and applauded.

In the marquee, which was well filled within a few minutes, Mayor Irmgard Hibler then went into action.

Assisted by Valentin Vorbuchner from the Taufkirchen brewery, she tapped the first keg of Festmärz with six hits.

Conductor Marcel Schultheis was already there with his baton ready to signal his musicians for the fanfare.

Exhilarated by the music of the Isen brass band, the procession went through the market town.

Isen brass band and Mittbach Goasslschnalzer traditionally entertain visitors on the first day of the folk festival.

The heroes of the day were the folk festival waitresses, who carried countless beers and sleds packed full of chicken, pork sausages and pretzels to the guests.

After the seniors' meeting on Thursday and the evening of the girls' and boys' clubs, the children's afternoon continues today.

Fairground rides, lottery and throwing booths then offer folk festival fun at reduced prices.

The children's program of the Westacher fire brigade and participation in the advertising ring's long-distance balloon flight competition are completely free of charge.

In the evenings you can party to the music of the band Tetrapack on the day of the companies.

The highlights are the Funino youth tournament on Saturday and the church procession, church service and flag ceremony on Sunday.

The folk festival ends on Monday, June 27, with the Kesselfleisch meal.
