Ukrainian troops are to withdraw from the embattled city of Sievjerodonetsk in the east of the country.
This was said by the governor of the Luhansk region, Serhiy Hajday, on Ukrainian television.
Sievjerodonetsk has so far been one of the last parts of Luhansk that has not yet been conquered by Russian and pro-Russian fighters.
Hajdaj said the forces should not be allowed to be surrounded, according to 24tv.
The fighters had been ordered to retreat to new positions.
