The Moosinninger rifle club "Die Falken" was founded 50 years ago.

A big anniversary celebration will take place on the weekend of July 1st to 3rd.

The history of the club:

Moosinning

– The shooters of “Die Falken Moosinning” will be celebrating their 50th anniversary next weekend with a big anniversary party.

The celebration is taking place a year late, it was postponed to this year due to the pandemic.

It all began on January 11, 1971. At that time, at the suggestion of Willi Scharnagl, a few men met in the Zirnbauer inn - the current Daimerwirt - with the idea of founding a rifle club.

However, the founding fathers had some concerns at the time, since there was already a rifle club in Moosinning called "Harmonie".

The question was whether there would be enough members to have the necessary financial means to found the company.

Despite all misgivings, it was finally decided to found a new association called "Die Falken Moosinning".

In addition to Willi Scharnagl, the club fathers are Andreas Zimmermann, Walter Stanke, Johann Zirnbauer, Josef Götz, Peter Thumbs, Günter Thumbs, Johann Kronseder and Josef Zirnbauer.

The last four were honored in 2021 for 50 years of membership.

The other founding members have already passed away.

As the first rifle champion, Willi Scharnagl led the club from 1971 to 1995. This was followed by Anton Neumair from 1995 to 2004, Stefan Rummelsberger from 2004 to 2013 and Josef Höllbauer from 2013 to now.

The innkeepers Johann and Anna Zirnbauer provided the young club with space for four shooting ranges in its early years.

With great diligence and a lot of commitment, construction was carried out quickly, and shooting operations were able to start as early as January 29, 1971.

The first club rifle, so that shooting was possible at all, was donated by club manager Johann Zirnbauer.

Additional rifles were funded by advances from founding members and donations.

To celebrate the occasion, the members of the rifle club founded ten years earlier posed for a group photo at the flag ceremony.

The joy was great that 26 shooters took part in the first shooting.

Already in the founding year, the marksmen took part in the district shooting in Eitting.

A highlight of the first year of the club was the royal shooting.

Here a sting had to bring the decision to the royal dignity.

Peter Thumbs prevailed against Johann Zirnbauer and entered the club's history as the first marksman king.

The development took its course: Since 1972, the club has been involved in round-robin competitions.

In 1973 the first club signs were purchased and in 1977 the first club clothing.

Since 1972 the club has had a rifle club.

A special highlight were the celebrations for the 10th anniversary at the same time as the 950th anniversary of the municipality of Moosinning.

The club's flag was solemnly consecrated on July 19, 1981.

This special moment was also attended by friendly shooters from the Zillertal.

Although it was raining heavily, the Austrians took the opportunity to shoot their honor salute outdoors.

Many events followed over the years of the association, starting with carnival celebrations, song recitals, strong beer festivals and village festivals, cabaret evenings, Christmas tree auctions and straw shooting.

The Vortelshooting introduced since the foundation, carried out on a partial basis, has a tradition at "Falke Moosinning" to this day.

After the consecration of the flag, it became increasingly crowded at the four shooting ranges at the Zirnbauers.

In 1981, two more shooting ranges were built.

This was later increased to eight shooting ranges, and since 2017 the club has had modern electronic shooting ranges.

These are used very actively, especially by young people.

The fortunes of the club are now in the hands of the management team (picture left, front, from left) Kai-Uwe Münch, Marieluise Eder, Josef Höllbauer, Lina Waldhör, (back, from left) Andreas Eschbaumer, Georg Klein, Gerhard Huber, Adrian Urbinati, Laurenz Schimper , Thomas Schmid, Daniel Urbinati, Jans Harms, Fabio Waldhoer, Stefan Rummelsberger, Manfred Hörmannsdorfer and Rudi Eder.

The club had a difficult time in 2012 and 2013, when the then rifle champion Stefan Rummelsberger wanted to resign and no successor was found.

Here the association was on the verge of dissolution until Josef Höllbauer agreed to take over the office.

During this time it was a special concern to strengthen the youth work again.

In the meantime, 37 young shooters are actively shooting, supervised by five youth leaders.

In the meantime, the youth of the association manages itself, there is a separate youth regulation.

A recent highlight for the young shooters was that the torch of the Bavarian Shooting Youth was a guest at “Falke Moosinning” on their way through Bavaria.

Eight torches run through Bavaria on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in Munich.

The association currently has 178 members.

When a young club member had a serious accident last year, the “Helferkreis Anton” initiative was founded with the help of the riflemen.

In 2020, the riflemen from "Harmonie Moosinning" will find a new home with the Falkeschützen at the Daimerwirt.

The anniversary party

The anniversary is celebrated at the torpedo home in Schnablmoos with the support of the riflemen from Harmonie Moosinng and the torpedoes.

It starts on Friday, July 1st, at 7 p.m. with a beer and wine festival with a bar and live music by "D'Hockableiba".

Traditionally, on Sunday, July 3rd, from 8 a.m., the clubs will be welcomed with a white sausage meal.

At 10 a.m., the festive service will take place outdoors if the weather is nice and in the marquee if the weather is bad.

After lunch, there will be speeches and awards and a cozy end to the celebration with coffee and cake.

On Monday, July 4th, there will be a benefit event with Roland Hefter and his program "As long as it doesn't work".

Entrence is starting at 18 o'clock.

Tickets are available at the following presale points: Daimerwirt, Moosinning, Marien Apotheke, Moosinning, Metzgerei Gröber,
