The heavy rain storm that hit Latakia Governorate yesterday caused material damage to some public facilities in the city of Jableh.
The head of Jableh City Council, Engineer Ahmed Qanadel, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the storm led to the uprooting and fall of some trees, the fall of billboards in the roads, a number of electric poles, and a break in the electrical network cables.
And Qanadeel indicated that since the early morning hours, the workers of the Maintenance and Services Department in the City Council are cleaning and removing the effects of the storm and the resulting accumulations and dirt, and removing them and cleaning streets, in addition to removing fallen branches, reinstalling electricity poles and connecting electrical network cables.
