Miesbach - Everything is getting more expensive - including the use of the Waitzinger Keller cultural center as an event location.

Due to the general rate of inflation, the city council increased the fees by 15 percent as of January 1, 2023.

Affected are the special tariffs C (reduced for schools, churches, clubs and others from Miesbach) and B (commercial, non-profit associations and organizations outside of Miesbach) as well as the regular tariff A.

As Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller (CSU) informed the council members, it is planned to adjust the tariffs every three years.

This last happened in 2018. In 2021 it was waived due to corona.

60 percent of all bookings are for the special tariff C and 35 percent for B. The basic rent and the technology flat rate are affected.

Fertl wants an exception to the special tariff C

For Paul Fertl (SPD), the increase of 15 percent, at least for special tariff C, is too lavish.

“It will be too expensive for many,” he pointed out.

"We should make the increase more moderate and encourage people to bring something to the stage themselves." This was also the goal when the Waitzinger Keller was founded.

Fertl considered 7.5 percent appropriate for Tariff C.

For Franz Mayer (CSU), this was a dispensable relaxation.

"If necessary, a subsidy is possible via the finance committee," reminded the third mayor and emphasized: "The energy and personnel costs are running away from us." Therefore, 15 percent are still "very humane".

"It doesn't matter much"

Culture consultant Verena Schlier (CSU) saw it similarly: “The clubs can apply for a grant.

You can talk to the cultural office.” The house should be revived.

Alfred Mittermaier (CSU), on the other hand, referred to the actual increase in price: "The hall has increased in price from 200 to 230 euros.

That doesn't matter much." What Inge Jooß (SPD) did not accept: "Everything together läppert." Against the votes of Jooß, Fertl and Hedwig Schmid (SPD), the fee increase was approved.
