The Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Daraa estimated the governorate’s production of eggplant, zucchini and peppers for this season at more than 45 thousand tons.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Eng. Wael Al-Ahmad, explained that the estimates of the eggplant crop were 27,900 tons, with the cultivated area reaching 370 hectares, while zucchini was 6 thousand tons, and the cultivated area amounted to 200 hectares, while peppers were 11,250 tons, on a cultivated area of 250 hectares.
Al-Ahmad pointed out that the crops of eggplant, zucchini and pepper have been put on the markets of Al-Hal in Daraa and Damascus as of the beginning of this month, as agriculture is concentrated in all regions of the governorate, especially the western region.
