Tehran-Sana

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced today his country's readiness to resume nuclear negotiations within the coming days, calling on the United States to act realistically during the negotiations to reach a good and reliable agreement on the nuclear file.

"We are ready to resume nuclear talks in the coming days," Abdullahian said during a press conference in Tehran today with the European Union's Foreign and Security Policy Commissioner Josep Borrell, adding that "what Iran wants is to obtain its full economic privileges according to the 2015 agreement, and we hope that the American side will be realistic and equitable." This time, it is taking serious steps towards reviving the nuclear deal and lifting sanctions.”

"We discussed the continuation of negotiations between Iran and other parties to lift the embargo, and we are trying to overcome problems and points of contention in the course of the talks that will be resumed," Abdullahian added.

Abdollahian stressed that Iran "will not stand idly by towards the Zionist entity's provocative measures against its nuclear program."

Abdullahian indicated that he discussed with Borrell cooperation in the fields of energy, combating terrorism, combating drugs, the issue of immigration and some consular issues, stressing Iran's position calling for the full lifting of the humanitarian blockade on Yemen, the resumption of Yemeni-Yemeni talks and the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

For his part, Borrell said we will resume talks on the Iranian nuclear deal in the coming days.
