The “Love and Wafa” initiative organized today a health event to support cancer patients, entitled (Joy befits you), in the hall of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in the city of As-Suwayda, under the supervision of the Directorates of Social Affairs, Labor and Health in the governorate.
The event included a medical and awareness lecture on the disease, distribution of a set of medicines to a number of cancer patients, and various artistic and musical performances.
The coordinator of the “Love and Wafa” initiative, Faryal Al-Saleem, explained that the event represents one of the humanitarian initiatives to express standing by cancer patients and raise awareness about the importance of early detection of the disease.
In turn, the Head of the Hematology Division at the Martyr Zaid Al-Shatiari Hospital in Sweida, Dr. Monis Abu Mansour, spoke during the event about cancer locally and globally, and the treatment services provided by the hospital to oncology patients, emphasizing the importance of periodic examination and early detection of the disease to treat it.
Nusaiba Al-Amatori, one of the women who recovered from the disease, gave a brief overview of her experience in dealing with cancer and recovering from it after about three years of treatment, noting the importance of arming the patient with determination and will to overcome the disease.
The Wafa Love Initiative in As-Suwayda Governorate, whose work was launched a few months ago, is one of the humanitarian initiatives aimed at spreading the values of love among members of society.
