Deir Ezzor-SANA
The Directorate of Technical Services in Deir Ezzor continues maintenance and rehabilitation work in 24 schools in various regions of the governorate as a result of being sabotaged as a result of terrorist acts at a cost of one billion and 475 million Syrian pounds.
The Director of Technical Services, Engineer Rashid Al-Hamad, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the rehabilitation works include 4 schools that suffered structural damage in the liberated neighborhoods of Deir ez-Zor city, in addition to maintenance and cladding of 20 schools spread across the governorate’s countryside.
Al-Hamad explained that the works being implemented included structural maintenance of the ceilings, columns, walls and the rest of the parts that were subjected to sabotage, in addition to the rehabilitation of classrooms, courtyards, fences, sanitary and electrical installations, water networks, preparing and repairing doors, windows, wooden and metal drapery, educational panels, installing glass, implementing tile and painting works, pointing out that the work It is taking place at an accelerated pace to complete the rehabilitation work before the beginning of the new academic year.
Terrorist organizations have looted and sabotaged educational facilities, and government agencies have worked in cooperation with international organizations to rehabilitate and maintain schools since the province was liberated from terrorism in late 2017, when the number of schools that entered service in the last academic year reached 360 schools for various educational levels.
