Neighborhood Aid Walpertskirchen provides support in a variety of ways.

At their annual general meeting, the members of the active association re-elected their board team.

Walpertskirchen

– “People dared to get help again,” said Beate Aust, head of operations at the Walpertskirchen neighborhood help, at the general meeting in the Büchlmann inn.

She recorded 410.5 hours of use in the care of the elderly and sick as well as in other services.

The members of the active association once again elected Rita Reichwein and her proven board team as their head.

A "big point" is the asylum work, which is done by the team of helpers and is carried out according to current needs, said Aust.

For example, two Afghan school children who receive additional language lessons through the neighborhood help and a baby who was recently born are cared for.

In addition, a woman with her three girls from the Ukraine will be supported.

Here it was possible to accommodate the family privately.

These children also go to the school in Walpertskirchen and to the school kindergarten in Hörlkofen.

2,187 meals were delivered to 23 customers, the head of operations informed about this service, which older people in particular use to be well looked after.

The delivery service to the front door also offers a certain level of security, especially for single people.

Relatives have often been notified if the door has not been opened and help is needed.

Aust thanked the team of five drivers, who did a great job here, as well as all the other helpers, especially the couple who own the house, who made an apartment available to the Ukrainian family.

Chairwoman Rita Reichwein thanked the reading sponsor team, who, not least, gave the children a lot of joy with an ambitious holiday program.

In addition, they took part in the nationwide reading competition online and read to all four classes in the primary school via video conference, reported reading sponsor and assessor Anna Spielberger.

A first-aid course for young people with the Maltese and a visit to a bookstore in Erding, followed by a snack in the city park, are planned for the summer.

It is also hoped that the pandemic will be merciful and that reading aloud can be offered regularly again, says Spielberger.

The reading mentor team, currently made up of nine people, has been around for ten years.

Next year the Walpertskirchen neighborhood help will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Chairman Reichwein announced that they wanted to come up with something special for this.

She also referred to the planned trip to Freising at the end of July and appealed to the audience to volunteer to help out on the way to school.

The parents' association asked her to do so.

Interested parties can contact Reichwein.

The head of the association also referred to the bookcase in the nostalgic telephone booth on the village square and the book table in the foyer of the VR bank.

This service is very well received.

The reading matter is exchanged regularly and the offer is enriched with new, exciting and informative reading material.

Treasurer Hans Pircher thanked for the willingness to donate.

6,460 euros were received for a good cause.

These grants are "vital" for the club to be able to help, Pircher said.

The board team was confirmed in its offices in the new elections, which are held every three years: Chairwoman Rita Reichwein, Deputy Chairwoman Christine Lederhofer, Head of Operations Beate Aust, Treasurer Hans Pircher, Secretary Caroline Mayr and the assessors Renate Günther, Hanne Brenner and Anna Spielberger remain still at the helm of the club.

Vice Mayor Josef Renner (CSU), who acted as election officer, thanked in his brief greeting for the dedicated work that the members of the association did every day.

He was "thrilled" by the many offers and congratulated the re-elected board.
