Saint Petersburg-SANA

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Russia will provide Belarus in the coming months with tactical Iskander-M missile systems that can be used to launch ballistic and winged missiles using both nuclear and regular munitions.

“We must ensure the security of our two countries from any potential dangers,” Putin said during his meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in St. Petersburg today, noting that the Americans keep in six European countries 200 nuclear munitions units, most of which are atomic bombs, and for their possible use have been equipped 257 aircraft. Limited to US aircraft only.

Putin made it clear that Russia does not have such rules and there is no need to respond in kind at present, stressing the importance of ensuring the security of the union state between Russia, Belarus and the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Regarding the grain file, Putin affirmed Russia's readiness to supply world markets with more than 50 million tons of grain this year, noting that it exported more than 40 million tons last year.

In turn, Lukashenko stressed that Lithuania's blockade of the Russian province of Kaliningrad is a declaration of war, explaining that information has been increasing recently about Lithuania's plan to stop the transfer of all goods through its territory from Russia to Kaliningrad, and this is unacceptable.

Lukashenko expressed his concern about the policies pursued by Poland and Lithuania towards his country, pointing out that the largest number of mercenaries brought to Ukraine came from Poland.

"We are very concerned about the flight of NATO aircraft capable of carrying nuclear warheads, and we want to discuss the possibility of developing our fighters and strengthening our defense capabilities in response to these flights near the borders of our country," Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko indicated that Belarus does not have any problems with the supply of grain and fertilizers, especially since Russia and Russia produce large quantities of them.
