The Russian Foreign Ministry has denied accusations by the Kyiv authorities that Moscow is carrying out forced evictions of children from Donbass, describing it as a "ridiculous lie".
"Such statements are ridiculous, as more than 150 children were killed in Donbass and more were wounded during the eight years of the ongoing military conflict in this region," TASS news agency quoted Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying today, adding that Russia had evacuated more than Two million people, including about 325,000 children, came to its territory from the dangerous areas of Ukraine and Donbass, and all of them voluntarily entered the country in order to save their lives.
Zakharova stressed that "Russian bodies continue to work aimed at providing humanitarian, medical and psychological assistance to children, in addition to helping to search for their relatives."
She explained that "the Convention on the Rights of the Child affirms the right of children to life, development, protection against all forms of violence and other rights, and Russia helps the children of Donbass achieve their rights."
