The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the forces of the Lugansk People's Republic, with the support of the Russian Armed Forces, liberated the cities of Severodonetsk, Borovskoye, Voronovo and Sirotino completely from the Ukrainian armed formations.
The RT website quoted the ministry as saying in a statement, "Units of the Donetsk Republic forces have completely liberated the cities of Severodonetsk and Borovskoe with the support of the Russian forces led by General Sergei Sorovikin."
The ministry added, "The lands of the industrial zone of the Azot plant in Severodonetsk became under the control of the Lugansk forces after the Russian army confronted the attempt of Ukrainian armed formations to turn these lands into a hotbed of depletion."
The ministry indicated that the towns of Voronovo and Sirotino were liberated, which means that Luhansk forces have imposed control over the entire areas adjacent to the Seversky Donets river bank from the Lugansk region.
