At the start of the G7 summit in Elmau, Prime Minister Markus Söder welcomed the heads of state on social media.

But one seems to have slipped through.

Munich – In a few hours, the world's most important heads of state will come to Bavaria to discuss the most pressing issues in world politics at the G7 summit in Elmau.

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) took this major event as an opportunity to welcome the illustrious guests on his social media channels.

But the CSU leader seems to have forgotten one participant at the G7 summit.

On purpose?

G7 summit 2022 in Elmau: Söder welcomes heads of state in Bavaria – one is missing

Among other things, Söder posted a photo collage with the heads of the invited heads of state of the G7 nations on Instagram.

The Alps rise up in the background and in the right corner peeps out where the summit was held, Schloss Elmau.

Below, a banner reads: "Grüß Gott in Bayern!" Pictured are US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida .

But one is missing.

Where is the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD)?

Söder's social media team placed the following sentences under the picture.

"The world as a guest in Bavaria: Welcome to Bavaria!

We salute the most important heads of state in the world.

At the G7 summit, the free world organizes itself and defines common interests.

The current crises in the world show how important international coordination is.” Do these greetings now mean that Olaf Scholz is not one of the most important heads of state in the world?

Or does the German chancellor not have to be specially welcomed in Bavaria?

Whatever the intention behind Olaf Scholz's missing head, the detail did not go unnoticed by the Prime Minister's fans.

"G6?" or "And Scholz is not welcomed?

Do you understand this CSU," says the comment column on Instagram.

Another writes: "Only Olaf is not welcomed in Bavaria – a rogue who thinks badly about it." Another follower is even clearer: "Olaf unloaded because undesirable in Bavaria.

Will be replaced by @markus.soeder."

In addition to the German Chancellor, other heads are missing from the picture.

Also not in the photo are EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Council President Charles Michel.

Although the two are not heads of state or government, they do take part in the G7 summits as the top representatives of the European Union.
