The General Directorate of Ports announced the death of a fisherman and the sinking of his boat as a result of the sea storm that hit Lattakia governorate last night at the Ras Ibn Hani site and the survival of two who were with him.
The directorate said in a statement that significant material damage had been caused to camping, tourism and summer facilities on the shores of Wadi Qandil and Al-Basit.
The Directorate reported the delinquency of a number of marine boats parked in Jableh, Baniyas, Tartous, and the damage was limited to material, while 6 sailors were rescued after their boat sank on the Lattakia shore.
