The People's Assembly affirmed that raising the national flag in the sky of Quneitra on June 26, 1974, after its liberation from the Zionist enemy, was an immortal historical day in the contemporary history of Syria.
The council said in a statement today on the occasion of the forty-eighth anniversary of the founding leader Hafez al-Assad raising the Syrian Arab flag in the liberated sky of Quneitra: “That historic day came as a culmination of the heroism of our army and the sacrifices of our righteous martyrs after defeating the brutal Zionist occupation forces from the steadfast city that was subjected to aggression during the occupation period. A savage savage that has destroyed everything that comes alive.”
The council added: “The Zionist occupation has not excluded from its hatred a house, a school, a place of worship or a hospital, where the effects of its sabotage acts are still visible until now, and this is what prompted the United Nations General Assembly to issue several resolutions condemning the brutal criminal act committed by the brutal occupation authorities. Against the liberated city, a violation of all international norms and conventions and the Bill of Human Rights.”
The People’s Assembly stressed that every atom of the soil of the occupied Syrian Golan is an integral part of our dear homeland Syria, stressing that what Syria has been exposed to and is being subjected to today for more than ten years is a cosmic conspiracy that was participated in and financed by the forces of evil, aggression and terrorism with the support of Western colonial powers. And the hateful Zionism, led by the United States of America.
And the council continued in its statement: “The brave men of our armed forces wrote the most wonderful pages of heroism and redemption, and their performance became a school and a role model in defending homelands, as the same forces tried to impose forms of unjust sieges against the Syrian people in desperate and miserable attempts to discourage us from exercising our independent sovereign decision and our positions. The firm principle of liberating every atom of soil from our occupied lands.”
The Council affirmed that our battle with these oppressive forces will remain and continue until all our usurped rights are restored by the efforts of the heroic men of our Syrian Arab Army and the wisdom of President Bashar al-Assad.
