After the storm and protests: The parole board will convene to listen to the victims of Alon Kastiel, a serial sex offender who is currently serving four years in prison.
The hearing is due to the intervention of the district court in the release committee's decision in May to release Castiel, on the grounds that the committee must listen to the position of the victims of the crime.
Orit Soliciano, director general of the Association of Centers for Assistance to Victims and Victims of Sexual Assault, said:
Recall that the district also accepted the argument filed by the union that the importance of rehabilitating the victims outweighs that of rehabilitating the serial sex offender.
In our opinion, the message is clear: Castiel must remain in prison, and continue to serve his sentence - which in any case does not express the seriousness of his actions.
We sympathize with the victims, and we will make sure to express our support to the Liberation Committee. "
The parole board is expected to convene for a retrial at Zalmon Prison this coming Monday, June 27, at 1 p.m.

In May, as stated, the parole board accepted Castiel's request for early release from prison.
Castiel has so far run nearly four years in prison out of four years and nine months in prison sentenced to him.
Castiel claimed in his application that he had undergone the required treatment in prison and was given full responsibility for his actions - and this led to a storm.
Following the decision and following the protest, the prosecution decided to appeal his early release.
Earlier this month, the court rejected Castiel's early release.
The hearing was held behind closed doors, but the verdict was broadcast live despite Castiel's opposition, who was not present in the courtroom when the judges' decision was read.
