About four thousand protesters gathered in the German city of Munich today to call on the leaders of the Group of Seven countries to be held tomorrow to take measures to combat poverty, climate change and hunger in the world.
Reuters reported that the protesters chanted slogans and slogans calling for anti-imperialism and for allocating more funds to prevent crises in addition to supporting economic development in the world, while the German authorities deployed about 20,000 police to ensure security at the summit.
The leaders of the countries arrived in Munich today and headed to Elmau Palace, while the protests took place in the city under the auspices of more than 15 organizations, including “WWF Germany”, “Oxfam Deutschland”, “Greenpeace” and “Bread for the World”.
The G7 leaders are scheduled to discuss the creation of a climate club in order to better coordinate between them.
