The G7 summit is just around the corner.
The weather is characterized by thunderstorms and rain.
This could have consequences for the protest camp and the arrival of the politicians.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail: At the G7 summit in Elmau in 2022 there could be a bang.
The current weather forecast predicts thunderstorms.
Already on Friday (June 24th) the German Weather Service issued an official severe weather warning for Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the region of "severe thunderstorms".
On Sunday, at the beginning of the summit, the thunderstorms are expected to continue, also at Schloss Elmau, where the G7 heads of state and government will then meet for three days.

Mud, puddles and flooded tents: At the G7 summit in 2015, storms flooded the protest camp of the “Stop G7 Elmau” alliance.
Will the pictures from back then be repeated?
During the construction day on Friday, the activists had to deal with heavy rain and hail.
The weather forecast for the coming days does not look rosy for the campers:

G7 summit 2022: Thunderstorms could make it difficult for politicians to get there
The weather conditions not only have an impact on the protest camp, but also on the arrival of the politicians.
The G7 participants have to get used to a different procedure in the event of a thunderstorm.
The plan so far is to fly the arriving politicians from Munich Airport directly to the venue by helicopter.
However, if there is a strong thunderstorm, this is not possible and we go to Elmau in a convoy of cars.
The police have already prepared everything for this case.
Parking lots were closed from Munich to the destination, detours were set up and control stations were set up.
