Already yesterday (Friday) a number of laws came into force that almost completely prohibit abortion at all stages of pregnancy or shortly after six weeks.
These are "dormant" laws in a number of states that were conditional on the repeal of the ruling, such as Missouri and Kentucky and became active law once the ruling was repealed.
Another 15 countries are expected to pass such laws in the coming days or weeks.
Protest against the ruling also spreads outside the United States: The French "Liberation" gate reads "Abortions: Black Friday," with a painting of a U.S. flag bearing women with blood coming out of them as stripes of the flag, and hangers (through which abortions are performed in a manner Pirate) as stars.
Meanwhile, Disney and other major U.S. companies, including airlines like United, have announced they will continue to provide health insurance to their employees that includes abortion financing and contraception, stressing they will also cover travel between U.S. states to get to a place where abortion is allowed.
The U.S. Federal Government, led by Gu Biden, said it had no way to fund abortions (because of congressional budget stipulations that have been in place for years) but would help as many women as possible who want to have abortions in countries that do not allow it. Market abortion pills for self-taking.
