The World Health Organization announced that 33 countries have recorded 920 probable cases of acute hepatitis in children so far, an increase of 270 cases from last May.
Reuters quoted the organization as saying today that half of the possible cases were recorded in the European region, including 267 in Britain, while a third of the possible cases were recorded in the United States.
And health authorities around the world are investigating the mysterious rise in cases of acute hepatitis in young children, as last April the outbreak of the disease was recorded for the first time in Britain, and subsequently infected dozens of other countries.
