With the start of the tourist season... Implementation of several service projects in the city of Lattakia

In conjunction with the start of the tourist season, Lattakia City Council continues to implement several service projects in and around the city, including paving roads, rehabilitating public parks, removing accumulated garbage and maintaining containers.

Engineer Mamdouh Haj Hassan, director of Lattakia city, explained that the two roads (ceremonies) extending from the entrance to Tishreen University, Al-Thawra Street, Al-Shabiba roundabout, Damsarkho Road, up to Ras Shamra roundabout, and the Blue Beach extending to Al-Azhari roundabout, passing through the Sports City roundabout were also maintained, at a cost of 600 million liras, indicating the start of work. Pavement stone and tree trunks painted with mowing, pruning and weeding works in both ways.

According to Hajj Hassan, the city council is currently implementing a lighting project with alternative energy in some streets of Lattakia and maintenance works on the roads of the industrial area, pointing out that the next phase will include maintenance of the road extending from the Blue Beach Roundabout to the Ras Ibn Hani site, passing in front of the Lamira Hotel.

Hajj Hassan pointed to strengthening cooperation with the civil society to improve the level of services provided to the people of the city in several areas, including preparing a study for the maintenance of some Lattakia parks, especially for children, asking all city council managers and heads of independent departments to respond quickly to citizens’ complaints and addressing them, solving any problems on the ground, and implementing Projects within the specified specifications and durations, emphasizing the suppression of any building violation and the application of the provisions of Decree 40 and its executive instructions.

For his part, the Director of the Directorate of Hygiene in the City Council, Ammar Qusiri, spoke of launching morning and evening hygiene campaigns throughout Lattakia and its suburbs, with the intensification of the work of mechanisms that empty garbage containers, dump trucks and dump trucks to remove random garbage dumps and the remains of rubble and dust, especially in the outskirts of the city and areas of popular housing.

Qusery pointed out that the Directorate of Hygiene launched campaigns to combat insects through spraying programs implemented by mobile teams in all neighborhoods of the city, following up on citizens' complaints in this regard and treating them according to the available capabilities.
